So, I organized a game jam event that happened last weekend at Youngstown State University’s McDonough Museum of Art through the networking Meetup group that I am the organizer for, Youngstown Game Developers.
It was so fun, and the jammers, even thought most of them had never done a game jam let alone made a game, had completed and made some wonderful games that you can play here.
I was also super amazed that out of the 40 people (a maxed out jam event) 10 of them were girls! So awesome! And, they weren’t just on girl teams, they worked with the guys with no issues, as equals. It was beautiful.
This was also Youngstown Game Developer’s and Youngstown, Ohio’s first game jam!
All in all, it was a huge success. With a huge sponsorship from the game development community and our local community, we completed this game jam, top notch. It went so well, that we were invited to do it again next year!
Anyways, I thought I’d share some photos that I took throughout the 48 hours, so you could see all the fun, and maybe join or sponsor us next year!
Here are some pictures of everyone jamming at the YGD Game Jam 2016 in Youngstown, OH at the McDonough Museum!
