save me from myself logo-vs2-01

So, I slept in a little late. But i wasn’t late to my day job or anything, and luckily I had picked out my clothes the night before.

I got done with work, and then went to the gym. It was nice to be on the elliptical and sweat out the stress of the day.

I still haven’t had a cigarette, so today makes day 4. Yay me! Shawn gave me some of the Chantrix he had left since he’s done with any cravings. I started taking it yesterday, and it helps. I was only take 1.2 in the morning, but tomorrow I’m going to take 1/2 in morning and 1/2 at night. I have been great through the day, but I still get cravings at night. Hopefully this will help.

So, to game development stuff. Today, I decided to start on the logo for my new game. A logo is important, especially for marketing. I need to find a color scheme for the game, and use it on the logo. I particularly like bright colors, and am thinking that I’d like a four color scheme.

At first, I wasn’t sure how I wanted the logo to be. As for the story of the game, there’s no real “symbol” or “god” or something that I could use. So I started by creating the text.

Since it’s a game of Micelf kidnapping Meah, and Aiye has to save Micelf, I thought I’d do 1/2 the word in a ransom letter style font and the second 1/2 of the words as a signature script style font.

I liked it, but it still feels like it’s missing something. The levels are going to be time based, so I thought adding a clock would work. It did not. It didn’t look awful, but it wasn’t giving the right feeling I wanted it to give. It made it seem like it was a more serious game than it actually is.

A little side note: the game is cartoony and funny with some mild adult humor, that your kids won’t get until they’re older. Kind of like Shrek’s humor.

Well, I was stuck with artist’s block, so I put a load of laundry in washer and then took a shower.

While I was washing my hair, I was thinking about the logo, and then trailed off into chase scenes and then it hit me. The hole game is basically a game of cat and mouse, or cops and robbers, so why don’t I put the silhouettes of Aiye chasing Micelf while Micelf is dragging Meah over the top of the “Save Me” letters. I think it works, since the game is full of obstacles, and chasing and stuff. Plus it’s a little goofy 😀

I’m still working on the color scheme, and I think I’ll work on the ransom letting a bit, so all I’m releasing today is a black and white rough draft. What do you think of it?

Anyways, I should get some sleep, and I’d like to read another chapter of my book. So, goodnight!
