Today in Game Development

Well, today was a Monday. So.. I had to go to work, to my day job so I can pay bills and things.

After work, I hosted a Hack Night at Quaker Steak and Lube in Boardman, OH. It’s a new Meetup night that my other Organizers and I started with our Youngstown Game Developer Meetup.

I think this was the third one. We had a few beers, some wings and talked about some of the projects we are all working on, marketing for our games and press, and some good ways to possibly gain an income through publishing our games.

After that, I came home, did some laundry, and am working on making a simple Unity Tutorial on how to publish a Unity Android build to the Google Play Store.

Right now… well, not right now right now, but I’m in the middle of typing out the written tutorial and this weekend I’ll finish the voice over for the video part of the tutorial. I’ll probably be done with the written Unity tutorial by tomorrow night.

I haven’t edited it yet, but the video recording from yesterday’s Youngstown Game Developer meetup will be done by this Sunday, probably. I have to edit a few things so it’s not such a long video, but as soon as that’s all done, I’ll post it up on YouTube.

I’m also working on the iOS build for Epicurus Unvorsum. My friend, Bill, is letting me borrow his Apple box so I can build it in Unity. Thought I had an HDMI cable so I could plug my monitor into it; I totally did not. So I went and picked up an HDMI cable today.

I also started working on a new game. Not exactly sure where I’m going with it, yet, but I’m playing around in Unity and getting more familiar with it. Really, it’s just learning more code. I was always an artist. I had to learn to program later in life.

So, today was a busy day. As always, I didn’t get nearly as much done as I wanted to, but that’s life and tomorrow is a new day. I bid you all farewell for the evening, for I am going to read the next chapter of the book I’m reading and go to sleep to prep for a new day.

Good night!
